PennDOT Hosts Child Safety Seat Checks Throughout PA

State Police and PennDOT are encouraging motorists to participate in free child passenger safety seat checkups throughout Pennsylvania as the agencies mark National Child Passenger Safety Week now through Saturday. According to PA State Police, only about one in every four child safety seats are installed correctly. Locally there will be a Safety check in Cameron County today from 1-4 p.m. at Cool’s Auto Repair on Sizerville Road in Emporium. Also, in Elk County on Wednesday from 3-5:30 p.m. at the PennDOT Elk County Maintenance Building on Saint Leo Ave in Ridgway, Potter County: On Thursday, from 1-4 p.m. at the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association on West Second Street and then in McKean County on Saturday from noon - 3 p.m. at the Smethport Volunteer Fire Department  on S. Nelson Road. PennDOT partners with law enforcement and safety groups year-round to ensure parents and caregivers always have access to information and services that help keep children safe.
