Community Service Hours for Those on Probation

Those on probation are already mandated to perform community service hours. At last night's Kane boro council meeting the McKean county community service coordinator proposed to council to allow those already in that position to be allowed to work off their hours in the community. Mike Barnard called it a  win/win. Work could get done and those on probation could work off their hours. some on council and Mayor Doug Caldwell are concerned about those involved but it was explained the "clients" as part of their service are also required to pay a stipend that would give them insurance coverage while performing their hours. The proposal will remain under discussion.
