Smith Still at Large

58 year old Thomas Smith is still on the run after a botched
kidnapping attempt at gunpoint last week in Emporium. Now Crime Stoppers are offering a two thousand dollar reward for information leading to his capture and arrest. 

The Clear Creek road man allegedly abducted a woman at gunpoint and told her to get in her SUV and drive. She did but moments later crashed the vehicle. The off duty bank employee was not injured and Smith took off. Police say Smith also threatened a second back employee in connection with the incident as well. Police say the employees were involved in recent foreclosure proceedings involving Smiths home. Both employees are being held in undisclosed location while Smith is on the loose. Investigators say tips as to Smith's whereabouts have been coming in. He is considered armed and dangerous.
