Senator Casey Asks Army to Fast Track Trade Route From Canada to Florida

United States Senator Bob Casey has asked the US Army Corps of Engineers to fast track permitting for work on Route 219. The trade corridor form Toronto, Canda to Miami, Florida may be completed int the near future. The project has been ongoing for about 40 years. Offficals are hoping the Somerset portion could go out for bid before the end of the year. Language form the recently passed federal transporation bill would allow for toll credit to be used to a states match on highway construction projects, meaning the project will be 100 percent federally funded.
