The man accused of killing his wife while she was in a hospital intensive care unit has been charged with aggravated murder. John Wise allegedly shot and killed his wife of 45 years in what may be a mercy killing. Wise’s wife Barbara had been in the Akron General Medical Center’s ICU in Ohio for several days. On Saturday Wise is believed to have entered his wife’s room and shot her in the head with a handgun. She died the next morning. Wise’s attorney said that what he did was in love. Wise is due back in court on August 22nd.
