Catt. County Lawmakers Receiving Pay Raises

It had been two years since Catt. County lawmakers received pay raises. That ended at last nights meeting. A vote of 15 to 3 gave the go ahead for raises for department heads of 1 percent retroactive to January 1.  Department heads’ raises were held last year at budget time while legislative officials attempted to negotiate a pay freeze with union representatives. Also at the meeting legislators approved a second local law calling for an extension of a 25 center per 100 dollar mortgage tax that was due to expire November 1 enacted to pay for the new Public works facility.
