Downtown Bradford Becoming "War Zone" at Night

At a meeting of the Bradford City Council yesterday some downtown Merchants expressed concerns about how the downtown area, which they said becomes a "war zone" on Main Street at night. They asked council to take measures about the vandalism, littering, bike riding and skateboarding, as well as the undesireable language and loitering. some are concerned because their businesses are being adversley effected because people are afraid to come in to the downtown area at night. Many acknowledge the police are doing a good job, but more needs to be done. Suggestions were made of installing cameras, and increasing police presence. The next council meeting is August 14.
