Allegany County Bridge Closed for Second Time in Two Decades

Allegany County Department of Public Works has closed for the second time in two decades The County Route 46 bridge over the Genesee River. They are closing it because the 110-year-old bridge has deteriorated significantly since the bridge was inspected back in October of 2011 and was rated in good condition. The bridge is well-known through the area and a local group has provided the county with more than $9,000 to help keep the bridge up and open, a decision has not yet been made.
