Two important Pennsylvania programs have been granted extension by the Governor. Pennsylvania Governor Corbett signed into law yesterday, extensions of two programs. Those programs enable the Department of Environmental Protection to prevent and clean up contamination due to abandoned or leaking underground storage tanks. The Senate Bill says that the programs, which were set to expire June 30, are extended for 5 more years through June 30, 2017. PA Senator Yudichak says underground storage tanks can present a huge environmental problem, especially if they are old tanks.
