Cattaraugus Man Found Guilty of DWAI

A Cattaraugus County man who was convicted of a fatal DWI accident back in 1994 has been found guilty of a "Driving While Ability Impaired" accident following a four day trial. On Monday a Cattaraugus County jury found Andrew Hoffman guilty of a DWAI crash in Coldspring last October that injured three people. Hoffman hit another car head-on, pushing it several feet into three pedestrians before he tried to escape, first in his badly damaged pick-up, then on foot. Hoffman will be sentenced in August. After the 1994 crash in Salamanca that killed two and injured two others, Hoffman was sentenced to 25 years to life. He was eventually paroled.
