Women's Lacrosse Stumbles at Colgate

St. Bonaventure Athletics

HAMILTON, N.Y.Colgate (5-10) scored the game's first eight goals and never looked back in a 19-8 win over the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team (3-8) on Wednesday.

Bona's Erin Thomas tallied two of her four goals in consecutive fashion to put SBU on the board, but the Raiders answered with nine goals to take command. Broken only by Thomas' unassisted goal with 2:48 to go in the half, Colgate sparked the final frame with five unanswered goals, seven of the next eight overall to build a 19-4 lead with 11:27 to play.

Danielle Drabin and Thomas went to goal alone to bookend a free-position marker from Amanda Cizenski, before Jenna Schlagenhauf finished a pass from Taylor Ventre to close the scoring.

The Bonnies return home this weekend to conclude the season, as Richmond and George Washington visit McGraw-Jennings Field on Friday and Sunday. St. Bonaventure will honor its senior following Sunday's contest against the Colonials.
