On 04/16/12 at approximately 6:34 PM the New York State Police responded to the report of an agricultural accident in the Town of Urbana. Incident occurred on a farm roadway located at 8560 County Rte 87.
Investigation revealed that Daniel R. Martin Sr., age 51, of 5437 Thomas Rd Bath, NY was operating a farm tractor on a downhill portion of the private roadway. Martin lost control of the farm tractor which overturned and Martin was located, by a co-worker, pinned under the tractor.
Martin was pronounced deceased at the scene by Steuben County Coroner Steve Copp. Martin was transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office for a cause of death determination.
Martin was employed by Keuka Lake Vineyards and was operating a tractor owned by Keuka Lake Vineyards. Personnel from the Hammondsport Fire Department, Hammondsport Ambulance, and T&R Towing responded and assisted at the accident scene.
