A Shinglehouse man has been charged with trying to rape a 12-year old girl. State Police say it happened last December at a home in Sharon Township. Following an investigation by troopers and the Potter County Children and Youth Service, police arrested 19-year old Darren Blauvelt. He’s been charged with attempted rape of a child, attempted statutory sexual assault and harassment. Arraigned in court, Blauvelt was able to post $25,000 bail and was released pending more court action. Troopers say the investigation continues.
