Eric Smith parole hearing today

An inmate who was 13 years old when he killed a 4-year-old boy with a rock is up for parole for the sixth time…and people in the Southern Tier and namely Steuben County are watching. Eric Smith, now 32, was convicted of second-degree murder in 1994. He was sentenced to nine years to life in prison for killing Derrick Robie in Savona, Steuben County. Smith lured the boy into the woods, hit him with a rock and killed him. Smith is now in a maximum security prison. The case has been featured on several TV crime shows. His parole hearing is today
