A new report
shows Cattaraugus County ranks 50th out of 62 counties in New York State in
health outcomes. It doesn’t mean the county is environmentally unsafe, rather the
report identifies unhealthy lifestyles. However, the county is improving. Last
year, Cattaraugus County was ranked 54th. The report reveals that
23% of adults smoke, 29% are obese and 16% drink excessively.
Allegany County was
slightly better, ranking 48th. Chautauqua was ranked 49th.
