Bradford Township police chief to retire

There’s a change in the wind for the Bradford Township Police Department. David Doyle has a law enforcement career that spans more than 40 years. And for the past 31 years, he’s been the chief of the Bradford Township Department. But that’s about to change. Doyle has announced he will retire at the end of the month. According to published reports, he accepted a deal that will cover his health care premiums until he is Medicare-eligible. His wife received a similar package. It’s part of a side package attached to the police union contract. Officials have said the side deal will actually save the Township more than $16,000. The police department consists of eight full and part time officers.
