Allegany County Legislature: Committee actions

Several Allegany County Legislative Committee’s were in session this week. The Public Works Committee is gearing up for the summer. It gave preliminary approval to hire 19 seasonal workers for summer projects at a cost of slightly more than $85,000. The matter was referred to the Ways and Means Committee…the financial watchdogs. The Committee also gave approval to an Olean business for a new van for the Office for the Aging. Lawmakers gave the okay to spend about $21,000 with Paul Brown Motors. Meanwhile, the Personnel Committee accepted the resignation and retirement of County Personnel Director Ellen Ruckle effective at the end of June.
