Olean resident arrested for warrant and drug possession

PRESS RELEASE
On February 28th, 2012, Trooper WAYNE OSGOOD pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 86 in the Town of Poland for speeding. While speaking to the driver, SHAWN WASHINGTON, 21, of Olean, Trooper OSGOOD smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. Trooper OSGOOD searched the vehicle and located a pipe containing marijuana residue and a bag containing five grams of marijuana. WASHINGTON was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and issued an appearance ticket to the Town of Poland Court. While checking his license, Trooper OSGOOD discovered that there was an active arrest warrant out of the City of Olean for WASHINGTON, and WASHINGTON was then transported into Cattaraugus County and turned over to an officer of the Olean Police Department.
