Two arrested in Meth Lab investgation

February 22, 2012 6:00 am T/New Hudson, Allegany County

The SOUTHERN TIER REGIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE along with NEW YORK STATE POLICE COMMUNITY NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT TEAM, and assisted by TOWN OF CUBA POLICE DEPT., ALLEGANY COUNTY SHERIFFS NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT UNIT, NYSP SORT, CCSERT, SP Amity BCI and uniform personnel, NYS DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION POLICE and Buffalo DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION TASK FORCE MEMBERS executed a search warrant issued by the HONORABLE JUDGE THOMAS BROWN, Allegany County Court Judge at the residence of :

JAROD T. POULIN, age 21, at 7290 Rawson Rd. in the Town of New Hudson, Allegany County.

Officers at the scene discovered evidence of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in the residence where precursors and laboratory equipment were seized.

In consultation with Allegany County District Attorney KEITH SLEP, POULIN was charged with UNLAWFUL MANUFACTURING OF METHAMPHETAMINE in the Third Degree, CRIMINAL SALE of a CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 5^th and CRIMINAL POSSESSION of a CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 5^th (all D Felonies) as well as Environmental Conservation charges of ENDANGERING PUBLIC HEALTH/SAFETY/ENVIRONMENT 4^th (A Misd), PROHIBITED BURNING OPEN FIRE (U Misd) & UNLAWFUL DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE (Viol)

Also arrested at the scene was:

BRADY J. DEMICK, age 25, of 1197 Carpenter Hill Rd. Cuba, NY.

DEMICK was charged with UNLAWFUL MANUFACTURING OF METHAMPHETAMINE in the third degree (D Felony) and Environmental Conservation charge of UNLAWFUL DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE (Viol)

The Search Warrant and arrests culminated a six month investigation.

Both defendants were arraigned before T/Cuba Justice HONORABLE JAMES KEOUGH and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in Belmont, NY in lieu of $20,000.00 cash or $40,000.00 property bail.

Additional state and federal charges may be pending. The Cuba Ambulance and the New Hudson Volunteer Fire Department were standing by to assist at the scene.
