State Police in Wayland arrest escapee from PA

New York State News Release:


The New York State Police based in Wayland located a stolen vehicle northbound on I-390 that was earlier reported stolen by an escapee from the Tioga County Prison in Pennsylvania. The escapee, Jeffrey M. Blair, age 22, reportedly walked away from a work detail near the prison. The stolen vehicle was stopped after it pulled into the Dansville Village Mart Sunoco gas station in the Village of Dansville. The operator of the vehicle, Britian L. Loyd, age 19, from Elmira, NY was apprehended inside the gas station. Blair was apprehended inside the stolen vehicle. Blair was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th. Loyd was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th and operating the vehicle without a license. The Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th charge is the result of alleged crack cocaine located inside the vehicle. Both Blair and Loyd were arraigned before Dansville Village Judge David Worth. Blair was committed to the Livingston County Jail on no bail as a Fugitive from Justice and $100,000 cash bail for the Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th charges. Loyd was committed to the Livingston County Jail on $5000.00 cash bail. Assisted at scene by Dansville PD.
