Following a three month long investigation by the New York State Police, in conjunction with the Erie County DA's Office and the DOCCS Inspectors General’s Office, BRENDON BERNDT, age 27, an inmate at the Gowanda Correctional Facility was arrested for Conspiracy 2nd (to commit murder). Berndt, while incarcerated at Gowanda CF attempted to hire an undercover New York State Police Investigator posing as a "hitman" for the purpose of murdering the victim, for the crime, for which he is currently incarcerated for. If convicted, Berndt faces up to 20 years in prison.
