Bonas Trail UMass After Day 1 at A-10’s

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The men's swimming and diving team finished in second-place after the first day of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships.  The Bonnies earned 106 points, putting them behind Massachusetts who leads the scoreboard with 117 points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of senior Peter Koenig sophomores Mike Burud, James Martin and freshman Ripley Danner took third-place with a collective time of 1:30.88.
The 800-yard freestyle relay team took second-place. Senior Yi Liu, freshman Vatslav Lets and Martin and Danner swam a combined time of 6:35.95, being edged out by UMass by just fractions of a second.
In diving, junior Mike Murphy showed how dominant he has been in the 1-meter dive all season, finishing in first-place with a score of 302.70. Dominic Butts-Ealy finished in fifth-place (277.20)
After UMass and St. Bonaventure, LaSalle (88), St. Louis (88), Fordham (64), Xavier (58) and George Washington (56) round out the competition.
The Championships continue Thursday morning at the Flickinger Athletic Center with trials at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
