Volunteer fire investigators in Allegany County could soon have another title…county employee. The Public Safety Committee approved the request…and said the move will allow the investigators to be covered by Worker’s Compensation coverage. The measure still requires approval from the Legislature. County Emergency Manager Jeff Luckey also requested the authority to appoint out-of-county Investigators. They would only be used when no local fire investigators are available. That request was also approved.
