Olean man acquitted of felony assault

An Olean man has been found not guilty of felony assault. It took a jury about an hour to return the verdict in the case against 23-year old Michael Ward. He was found guilty of marijuana possession. Regarding the assault, Public Defender Mark Williams said the jury got it right.  Ward had been accused of injury his then-girlfriend during a dispute. Three different versions were offered by the alleged victim. Williams told the Buffalo News “there was next to no investigation of this complaint by the authorities.”
