Jamestown man taken into custody for six robberies

Investigators from the Jamestown Police, New York State Police and the Town of Ellicott Police Departments have located and charged a subject in connection with six recent area robberies. A joint investigation by the three aforementioned agencies led to the arrest of William R. Buckley, age 36, of Jamestown. Buckley was officially charged on 12/06/2011 with 1 count of Robbery in the 3rd Degree for the incident that occurred on November 21, 2011 at the Kwik Fill Store located on Forest Avenue in Jamestown. Buckley was also charged with 2 counts of Attempted Robbery 3rd Degree for the attempted robbery of the Kwik Fill Store on Fluvanna Avenue that occurred on December 4, 2011 and the attempted robbery of the Red Roof Inn located on East Main Street in the Town of Ellicott on December 4, 2011. Buckley has charges pending from three other incidents in the Town of Ellicott including the Arrow-Mart on North Main Street Ext. on November 28, 2011, Crosby’s on East Main Street on November 28, 2011 and at the Exxon Station on Fairmount Avenue in West Ellicott on December 4, 2011. Buckley was arraigned in the City of Jamestown City Court and was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail. Buckley will be arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Town Court at a later date.
