Eldred Township and Eldred Borough volunteer fire departments responded to a call of an electrical fire at 2:03 p.m. Friday at 538 Canfield Hollow in Eldred Township. According to Tim Crandall, fourth assistant fire chief for Eldred Township, there was no fire when responders arrived. Something in the electrical meter had malfunctioned, Crandall said, and power to the home had been shut off before firefighters arrived. The homeowners were notified they would have to contact an electrician to fix the problem.
