Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Deputy struck by car

A Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured last night when he was struck by a car. It happened at 5:30pm on Route 394 in East Randolph. Deputy Jordan Haines was investigating a car-deer accident when he was struck by a passing motorist. Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb confirmed the Deputy sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was treated at WCA hospital in Jamestown. The driver who struck the officer stopped and was cooperating with police. The investigation is now being handled by state police. Troopers are expected to release additional details this morning.
