Hunter from Portville injured

State Police tell WVTT news radio that 70-year old Robert Miller of Portville was injured at 10am Saturday morning in a hunting accident in Livingston County.  The accident happened behind a residence on New Road in the Town of Leicester. Troopers said Miller was injured when he fell approximately 15 feet from his tree stand.
Miller was transported to Strong Hospital in Rochester by Monroe Ambulance with broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a laceration to his face. Investigation by troopers at the scene indicated that Miller did not secure a safety strap while hunting, and fell after shooting at a deer.
