From the courthouse

    Lori P. Rieman, Cattaraugus County District Attorney, reported the following activity in Cattaraugus County Court on Tuesday, November 29, 2011:

     LOUIS J. EDWARDS, d/o/b 12/27/1980, of Olean, New York, but presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was sentenced as a Predicate Felon, to a determinate term of three years incarceration in the New York State Department of Corrections for his conviction of Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class C felony.  The incident occurred on or about September 29, 2010, in the City of Olean, when the defendant he attempted to sell crack cocaine.  He was sentenced to a concurrent, determinate term of two years in the New York State Department of Corrections for his conviction of Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony.  The incident occurred on or about February 23, 2011, in the City of Olean, when he attempted to sell crack cocaine.  He will also be subject to a period of post-release supervision when he is released from prison.

     ERNEST R. WALTERS, III, d/o/b 12/13/1984, of Olean, New York, but presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was sentenced to a determinate term of two years incarceration in the New York State Department of Corrections for his conviction of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class E felony.  The incident occurred on or about February 9, 2011, in the City of Olean, when he knowingly and unlawfully attempted to possess hydrocodone.  He will be subject to a period of post-release supervision when he is released from prison.

KARISSA A. JOHN, d/o/b 10/6/1989, of Ontario, Canada, was sentenced to 30 days in the Cattaraugus County Jail and her license was revoked for her conviction of Driving While Intoxicated.  The incident occurred on or about October 29, 2010, in the Town of Perrysburg, when the defendant operated a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition, having a .14% BAC.
