A 26-year-old Olean, New York man is behind bars today at the Worcester County jail, being held in lieu of $20,000 bail following his arrest over the weekend for a burglary in Berlin.
The victim told officers that she returned to her Georgetown Road home just before 8 p.m. to find the suspect standing at her rear door; the victim told police the suspect then ran off into the woods.
Police say the suspect gained access to the house by prying open the door and then removing several items from the home.
On Saturday, Ocean City Police observed a male matching the description of the suspect acting suspiciously; they contacted Maryland State Police who arrested Matthew Bailer after he confessed to the crime.
