More budget talks tomorrow night when Olean’s Common Council and Committee of the Whole meets… The Committee will take another look at the preliminary city budget. There’s been ongoing sparring between Mayor Linda Witte and Council President Jim Brady. Brady’s plan to axe $100,000 from the fire department could be approved during the session. Witte has repeatedly defended her zero tax increase spending plan. Outside of budget talks…the Committee will continue discussion to amend the Code of Ordinances to create additional provisions regarding second hand dealers. It’s designed to help police better track and recover stolen property.
